Zeynep Özcan
PhD. Student

Zeynep Özcan is a PhD. student at METU Environmental Engineering department. She continues her doctoral studies on “Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus with a Focus on Climate Change.” Between November 2021 and September 2022, she worked as a project assistant in the TÜBİTAK project “A New Approach for Sustainable Water Management: Integration of the Circular Economy Approach to the Framework of Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus”. In addition, she worked as a project assistant in the projects of “Evaluation of Agricultural Diffuse Pollution and its Control Alternatives with SWAT Model in Lake Mogan Watershed,” “Development of Sludge Management and Action Plans for Turkey (TAÇYEP),” “Preparation of Drought Management Plan for North Aegean, Küçük Menderes, and Eastern Mediterranean Basins” and “Evaluation of Water, Energy and Food Nexus in Sakarya Watershed” between the years 2014 and 2019, respectively. ArcGIS, QGIS, SWAT, SWAT-CUP, MATLAB, WEAP, LEAP, and WRF are among the software/models she uses. Watershed Modeling, Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus, Sustainable Water Management, Water Quality, and Climate Change are among her areas of interest.

Bilge İrem Yapan
MSc. Student

Bilge İrem Yapan, graduated from METU Environmental Engineering in 2021, is currently a graduate student at the same university. She also works as a research assistant and since November 2021, she has been a project assistant in the TUBITAK project “A New Approach for Sustainable Water Management: Integration of the Circular Economy Approach to the Framework of Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus“. Her areas of interest are water quality, water-energy-food link, circular economy, water reuse, sustainable water management, water and wastewater treatment.

Esin Yandımata
MSc. Student

Esin Yandımata, graduated with BSc. in Environmental Engineering from METU, together with a minor degree in Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing, in 2022. She has been taking part as a project assistant since her undergraduate years and is currently working on a TÜBİTAK project called “A New Approach for Sustainable Water Management: Integration of the Circular Economy Approach to the Framework of the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus”. She also works as a teaching assistant. Watershed management and environmental modeling are some of her research interests.

Ece Demir
MSc. Student

Ece Demir, who graduated from METU Environmental Engineering in 2022, is currently a graduate student at the same university. She is a project assistant in the TUBITAK project “A New Approach for Sustainable Water Management: Integration of the Circular Economy Approach to the Framework of the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus” since November 2021. Her areas of interest include the WEFE nexus, the circular economy, sustainable agricultural practices, water reuse, watershed management, and geographic information analysis.

Buse Berfin Kart
MSc. Student

Buse Berfin Kart is a graduate student in Environmental Engineering at METU, where she also earned her bachelor’s degree in the same field in 2022. As part of her studies, she is currently a project assistant in the TUBITAK project “A New Approach for Sustainable Water Management: Integration of the Circular Economy Approach to the Framework of the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus”. Buse’s interests include water resources management, sustainable development, environmental policy, and circular economy.

Abdelrahman Habash
MSc. Student

Abdelrahman Habash holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from ODTÜ/METU (class of 2022), and he is currently pursuing his master’s degree in the same faculty. He has experience working in different environmental research fields for about two years since his junior year as a bachelor student, but in his present master’s and research works, he is mainly interested in artificial intelligence and machine learning modeling applications in watershed management, environmental and economic multi-objective optimization under operational research, and Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus approach in environmental research.

Selin Şipal
BSc. Student

Selin Şipal is an undergraduate student at METU Environmental Engineering. She is currently running the “Sustainable Water Management at METU Campus” project. Since 2022, she has been working on the TUBITAK project named “A New Approach for Sustainable Water Management: Integration of the Circular Economy Approach to the Framework of the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus“. Her areas of interest are water quality, watershed management, sustainability, and the WEFE nexus approach.

Su Kunt
BSc. Student

Su Kunt is an undergraduate student in METU Environmental Engineering with a strong interest in sustainability, LCA, carbon footprint, and smart water systems. Since 2022, Su has been actively involved in the TUBİTAK’s ‘New Generation 3D Printer Manufacturing Technologies Platform’ project as a project assistant.

İlksen Şenocak
MSc. Student

İlksen Şenocak is an Environmental Engineering student at Middle East Technical University. As an undergraduate researcher, she is part of the “Sustainable Water Management in Water Centric Eco-Cities: Assessment of New Paradigms” project since 2022. Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing, sustainability, diffuse pollution, and stormwater management are her areas of interest.
